About Us:
Kendal Lymphology Centre (KLC) was created by Denise Hardy (a clinical nurse specialist with over 25 years experience in the field) to act as a link between patients and health care professionals.
Emphasis is on holistic assessment and appropriate treatment (according to patient need) and includes all aspects of lymphoedema management.
Self management, education, health promotion, and prevention advice is also provided as part of the care package.
With expert care all patients suffering from lymphoedema and other related conditions are given the best opportunity and expertise to control, improve and effectively self manage their condition and improve the quality of their lives.
Funding for Treatment:
Sadly, dedicated funding for lymphoedema treatment is not widely available in the North West, however Cumbria Partnership NHS Trust will consider referrals made through your GP. A referral form can be downloaded by clicking here. For those living in the Lancaster area, your GP needs to complete the North Lancashire referral Form downloaded by clicking here.
Private treatment is also available if necessary (when funding is not granted). KLC also has provider numbers for many of the private insurance companies.
